Mark Adam:
Quirky, Volcanic or Musically Confused are some of the terms that have
been used to describe Markdam over the past year -- but perhaps CMJ
sums it up best with It Markdam music. Regardless of classification, he
and his underground music have been experiencing the kind of buzz that
is rightly reserved for artists that bring something new and fresh to
the table. Since the release of his first studio album six years ago,
Markdam has received an overwhelming amount of accolades such as, award
nominations, garnered press reviews as well as prominent positioning in
an upcoming independent movie. The latter, being the placement of his
song Lay Down My Mind in the indie flick Land of Loneliness. Markdam
has been on the road supporting his latest release Fortune Teller which
was hailed as George Dickel with a twist, but pure brilliance by CMJ.
2007 is sure to be a spectacular year, as Markdam begins recording a
new album to be released in the spring.

of club hits over the years, such as the remake of Cheryl Lyn's "Got To
Be Real," and her music has been prominently feature in several major
feature films, including the upcoming Van Kilmer/Dennis Hopper film
"10th & Wolf." Jade's song "Let Freedom Ring" was adopted by so
many gay pride festivals in 1997, that it was considered the "Gay
Anthem of the Year." Jade performs some of her classic and newest songs
at the Expo. Check out her latest projects at http://www.jadestarling.com.

Cazwell:
Cazwell the gay rapper known as Cazwell has no illusions about storming
the gates of the hip-hop nation. "No matter how good I was, or how good
my songs are, I'm never going to be going to the Source Awards," he
says. "Hip hop don't roll with gay people. So rather than trying to fit
in, I want to create my own sound and invite people to come to me."
Those who do will discover some of the most riotous, fleet and
deliciously filthy rap being produced this side of Eminem's latest
blurts. Cazwell's latest CD, "Get Into It," out this week, plunges so
eagerly into lowdown sex, none of its rhymes can be printed here,
they're that good.

Kirsten Price:
Kirsten Price has reason to be excited these days. She has a debut
album in the works. Her metaphoric and irresistibly catchy signature
song -- "Magic Tree" -- is the lead track on the upcoming L
Tunes: Music From And Inspired By THE L WORD®
compilation album while a video of "Magic Tree" is set to debut on
Showtime as part of the set-up for the new season of "The L Word."
Kirsten is ready to share her sounds -- a blend of old school soul,
classical compositional chops, and 21st century technology -- with the
world. As one of the first two talents
signed to Music
With A Twist (TWIST) -- the recently launched record label dedicated to
identifying and developing lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender
(LGBT) artists -- Kirsten is on the cusp of a newly breaking cultural
vanguard.
The young singer-songwriter-producer-multi-instrumentalist was born in
Islington, an inner city district of London that's been home to a
diverse range of characters including Charlie Watts, George Orwell and
Vladimir Lenin and served as backdrop to the novels of Charles Dickens
and Nick Hornby ("High Fidelity," "About A Boy").
Kirsten's mother, who'd hailed from Pennsylvania, would sing "American
heritage songs" to her daughter and saturated her with the pivotal
sounds of Motown and 70's Disco. "We had a piano in the living room in
the town house I grew up in," Kirsten remembers. "Unlike most kids who
would watch TV, when my mother left the house I would just bang on the
piano. I played piano basically as soon as I could touch it. I started
writing actual songs when I was about 11. Before I could play I would
make up songs to sing along with the old Beethoven and Tchaikovsky
records that my dad played when I was a toddler. I'd sing along with
the melody lines and make up nonsense lyrics. I was one of those kids
that was always singing, you couldn't shut me up."
Kirsten sung in numerous different choral groups throughout her high
school years, both in and out of school, usually working with at least
three different choirs at a time with rigorous practice and performance
schedules. She was pushed to study opera before her voice box had fully
developed but, in her words, "I read Janice Joplin's biography and
rebelled."
Kirsten went on to study History at The University of London where she
was "bored out of her mind." So, "having been dreamily immersed as a
teenager in the 60s world of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin," Kirsten
Price set off from London to San Francisco. "San Francisco seemed to
have this perpetual hangover from the 60s counterculture that I was
inspired by," she observes, "plus it was the furthest away place from
England where they spoke English and I could hang out. Nobody knew me.
Nobody understood me. People thought I was from Iceland. It was great."
She ended up living in a communal warehouse space that had been divided
into various makeshift lofts. Kirsten lived in the garage with a
recording studio next door. "Basically," she recalls, "I amassed
various instruments in my loft space and I waited tables and made
music." Kirsten found living in San Francisco "a little bit like being
an animal from the desert trying to survive somewhere where it's very
wet. I missed being in a more chaotic metropolitan city similar to the
one I'd grown up in."
So Kirsten Price came to New York City for the very first time in early
September 2001, mere days before the world changed on 9/11. She crashed
in the apartment of "a friend of a friend" and worked as a cocktail
waitress. When she came across Fort Greene, Brooklyn, she knew she was
home. "I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world if you paid
me," she says. " I found a racial and social mix in this neighborhood
that reminded me of where I grew up. People from all kinds of different
walks of life and backgrounds are very comfortable with each other
here."
Holing up hermit-like in her Fort Greene apartment, Kirsten wrote a lot
and set to work building a recording studio. "Having done the band
thing so much and having become more of a writer-producer, I felt as
though I could realize my vision musically much better on my own," she
says, "or with one or two talented people, rather than with a bunch of
kids with guitars."
She found a kindred spirit in producer Fred Sargolini (MING+FS, Kool
Keith, Susan Vega, "Sex & the City," "CSI: NY") and, in January
2006, laid down the songs -- including "Magic Tree" and "All Right" --
that form the core of her upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album.
She finds that the words and the music tend to come together and keeps
a tape recorder by her bedside to capture the spontaneous ideas
bubbling up from her subconscious. "I often come up with something good
just walking down the street," she admits and composes on the piano,
her first instrument, or guitar. "Although nowadays, because of the way
production is and the way popular music is evolving, I'll write to
beats or rhythms or riffs or ideas."
Kirsten is also intensely interested in formal composition and
classical music. "When I got to New York," she offers, "I took a lot of
undergraduate classes in the evening division at the Juilliard School
to really master my theory. I really enjoy composing orchestral music.
My work as a solo artist is very specific, but I also have big ideas
about hip-hop orchestras, musicals and all kinds of other crazy
projects."
She feels fantastic about her first commercial release and is excited
to be working with the cutting edge label TWIST. "They were really into
the music," she says. With the sounds of Kirsten Price, a major new
musical artist has arrived… With A Twist. |

Wash makes her first appearance at the GLBT Expo this year!

from her forthcoming first Gospel CD. The CD is her first recording in
over 4 years and released on her own record label, Purple Rose Records.
Produced by Michael Hearn & Maurice Johnson, Martha describes the
first single as “strong and up-lifting with a message of hope and
inspiration”. Martha Wash proclaims, “I am taking my time in recording
this CD and I am very excited about its first single. I am

around the globe”!
Martha Wash, the

the Weather Girls,
Martha's voice has dominated the air waves and her charisma and spirit
has embraced millions of people around the world. Martha is responsible
for some of the most recognizable top-selling mega-pop hits of our
time. Martha's dynamic signature voice carried such pop classic
mainstays such as, " It's Raining Me n ", which is heard on
Top 40, Urban and Rhythmic dance stations internationally, “ Sweat”
(Everybody Dance Now) which was the highlight of C&C
Music Factory 's career and went on to sell over 5 1/2

such as Kiss Me Guido , First Wives Club , Mighty Ducks and Gung Ho .
Martha's noted CD, Martha
Wash "The Collection" reintroduced the legendary hit " It's
Raining Men ",
recently, when it was re-recorded and produced post the new millennium
featuring larger-than-life personality, RuPaul. This release also
includes a re-recording of “ Strike-It-Up " and an original
recording of the CC Music Factory release " Sweat ".
These classic favorite dance floor and radio hits were turning points
in pop music, bringing an underground club flavor into the mainstream.
From
the age of 2, Martha performed in her parents' church in her native San
Francisco. Martha honed her big voice, when she went on to study opera
and tour Europe while still in high school. Martha Wash became part of
a contemporary gospel group called N.O.W. (News of the World). This mix
of classical and gospel training accounts for Martha's seemingly
effortless transition from strong deep ballads, to pop dance music, to
gospel and everything in-between!
Always
one to answer the call of charity, Martha has done considerable work
over the years, especially in the area of HIV & Aids prevention.
Yes, Martha is noted for her many voices…those voices add up to one
big-hearted Diva, in the true sense of the word...her heart is as big
as her voice!
So whether it's a
performance at Carnegie Hall, the White House for Presidents and Heads
of State or clubland…Martha Wash delivers and there is nothing like
being in the audience during a Martha Wash performance! Martha is one
Diva, who truly practices what she has preached in her early disco hit,
"Earth can be just like heaven", give a little…take a little, put a
little back…we are all brothers and sisters, and that's a fact”!

Ira Levi:
Ira Levi was one of the first OUT artists signed to a major label, when
he was picked up by WEA, a major label in the 90’s. Ira was also the
first male artist signed at the onset of club dance when famed indie
label, Strictly Rhythm was born. Also a songwriter, Ira’s self-penned
Billboard hit singles and chart topping hits include "Free Your Mind",
"We Came To Work It Out", “Nothing Stop Me” which featured backing
vocals from Barbara Tucker and “Don’t Mean Nothing” to name a few!
Having worked with heavy hitters such as Jellybean Benetiz, DJ Pierre,
George Morel, Roger S., and Wamdue, Ira’s vocals are soulful and smooth
with an edge. Ira’s performances include large stadiums, such as
Westbury Music Fair and top dance clubs with performances in the
largest Pride Festivals in the country such as New York’s Heritage of
Pride, San Francisco Pride and others! Further, Ira’s music was
featured in the Miramax major motion film, “Lie Down With Dogs”, which
was one of the first gay films released to major theaters in the USA!
The son of fame vocalist Sam Fletcher who performed with legends such
as Barbara Streisand, Nancy Wilson, and Dinah Shore, Ira Levi comes
from a family of vocalists. Now on Catz Entertainment, Ira Levi will
release two new singles this summer, “Work It Out” and “Sweet Dreams”
with remixes from producer/mixmaster Johnny Rocks, Klubjumpers &
Joe Bermudez, Giuseppe D., John Rizzo and more! A full length album is
on tap to be released by years end.
What makes Ira Levi so special is his sense of vocal phrasing atop

He's established himself as a powerful live act performing in venues
with, R&B and pop artists such as Rupaul, The Village People, SWV,
Evelyn Champaign King, Ms. Jennifer Holliday, Coolio and many others.
Ira’s sense of community is very strong. Not only has he donated his
talents for such organizations such as Long Island Gay & Lesbian
Youth (LIGALY); Ira also used his celebrity and life experience to
affect change in San Francisco with "Scharod's Law". "Scharod's Law"
was born when a 15-year old was killed as he stood outside what was
supposed to be a "safe space" for youths- the local YMCA!. Ira was
instrumental in getting a law passed which would require promoters to
register with the City and to demonstrate their safety measures when
sponsoring youth dances. “Scharod’s Law” was voted into legislation in
San Francisco in 2004. Says Ira Levi, “Although, I love my life as a
recording artist and entertainer, Scharod’s Law is my greatest
accomplishment”! Don’t miss Ira Levi’s performance this year at the

|
| PNN RADIO:
PNN Radio is the #1 Gay Dance Radio Station in the United States. It is
the longest running, hightest rated, most listened to station in the
country. It can be heard on several devices, including X-box, iTunes,
Tivo, Motorola, PSP, and smart phones, as well as online at www.pridenation.com or www.gaytuned.com . |
| PNN RADIO'S SPRING CONERT SERIES:
Intended to be a one-time show in Las Vegas as part of the Billboard
Music Conference, the PNN Radio Concert Series has grown into an
extremely popular event reminiscent of the mini-concerts put on by
radio stations in the late 80's. It features a core of popular dance
artists (most of which have current top 10 or #1 singles), as well as
up-and-coming new talent. |
|

PEPPER MaSHAY:
International dance diva, Pepper MaShay is one of the most recognized
faces in dance music today. From providing the theme to Showtime's
“Queer as Folk” (Dive In The Pool) to her newest #1 smash “Lost Yo
Mind” she continues to connect with her audience, and provide a high
NRG; stop-your-feet; ‘Let's get soaking wet' energy to the PNN Radio
Concert Series. She is also host of her own television show on Proud TV
( www.proudtv.tv ) called “Sound
Check with Pepper MaShay”, co-hosted by PNN Radio's dj Corey D. |

GEORGIE PORGIE:
Rounding out the PNN Radio Concert Series is Georgie Porgie, singing
his #1 hits “Sunshine” and “I Believe”. More than just a #1 recording
artist, Georgie Porgie is also an accomplished producer, dj and
recording mogal. With out His help, and the help from his label, Music
Plant Records, the PNN Radio Springs Concert Series would not be as
successful as it is. His energy and up-beat attitude always leaves the
crowd wanting more. |

OHSHA KAI:
Very rarely does someone rise to the top of the charts as quickly as
Ohsha Kai. Her very first single, “Free Your Mind” became an instant
favorite, making its way to #1 on the Billboard music chart. She's
currently nominated for “Best Break-through Artist (solo)”. Her
attention to melody and her always flawless style have made her a
valued part of the PNN Radio Music Series.
|

FREDRICK FORD:
With the #1 song “Turn My World Around” and club favorite “Too Funky”,
the always sexy, always fun Fredrick Ford gives the PNN Radio Music
Concert exactly what it wants – a hard, throbbing beat, a deep, sultry
voice and abs that won't quit. |

GIA 7:
PNN Radio was elated to have Gia 7 join the Music Concert Series this
year. Her debut single “I Feel For You”, a collaboration with John Kano
always delivers. Seven is her lucky number, and she's PNN Radio's lucky
charm. |

JASON ANTONE: Jason
Antone is the newest member of the PNN Radio Music Series. His single
“With You” spotlights the up-and-coming singer/songwriters style and
talent, and is just starting to be recognized through out the country.
